Troop 28 is Ausitn's only Jewish Troop (although open to all scouts). We are sponsored by Congregation Agudas Achim. We meet Sundays at 2:30pm - 4pm (see our calendar) at the Jewish Community Center of Austin. Our Troop strives for two patrol meetings a month, one general troop meeting, and one campout a month where the scouts can work on Merit Badge and Advancement. We are always looking for new opportunities for our scouts to do primitive camping (backpacking) and other exciting events.
We also do service projects as a troop and individually (as each schout works through his ranks). We are always looking for more service projects.
Parent Meetings are held as needed (usually coincindental to the Troop/Patrol Meetings). We recognize our Scouts achievements with Courts of Honor held 3-4 times a year.
Scouting is about helping our boys grow and mature as they become young men. We teach them skills, leadership and responsibility so they can become the mensches we all want them to be.
